I figured that since I've got the loveliest sheets on my bed currently, why not a short entry on my very own comfort zone (aka bed) today? Introducing my stuffed pals – the cat and the rabbit. That's actually what their 'names' are because I'm so not creative like that.
Being the spot where I spend at least 12 hours a day on (I know, I'm pretty much a sloth) – I put more effort into grooming my bed to be the comfiest possible simply because the nature of your bed affects your sleep. Of course, other than sleeping, I do spend a lot of time just lazing around in my bed and surfing the net etc, but more on that later!
In case you're wondering, my sheets are from Linen House Singapore. Linen House is an Australian-owned family business founded 12 years ago, and has since expanded to become a brand that not only has an exclusive line of textile products but also manufactures international brands under license. Today, Linen House is renowned internationally and caters to a global market including Singapore.
Pictured in this blog entry are the Stone-Washed Sheet Set which consists of a pillow case, single-fitted bed sheet and a flat sheet, all in stone-washed white. Also, I got myself the Ghana Quilt Cover Set which consists of a monochromatic double-printed quilt cover as well as a double-printed pillow case.
Prior to these Linen House sheets, I was using the ones from Ikea and truth be told, I never really bothered much about the quality of my bed linen as long as they looked pretty! So much about not judging a book by its cover, is anyone else guilty too? However, with Linen House's sheets currently, I definitely raised my standards of bed linen deemed comfortable and no doubt, I haven't had such good sleep in a long while!
As all my close friends would know, I constantly suffer from sleep paralysis, a sleep condition that causes my body to be paralysed while my brain is active, which not only causes me to struggle with opening my eyes when it happens but also causes me to hallucinate while experiencing sleep paralysis. Needless to say, sleep paralysis has had an adverse effect on my sleep cycle and I often find myself having sleepless nights and thus excessive sleeping during daytime.
Over the years of my experiences with sleep paralysis, I have of course tried to google for help on how to prevent it from happening. Other than my sleep position, I have learned that the environment of your bedroom as well as comfortability of one's bed not only helps prevent sleep paralysis but also enables one to sleep better.
As luck would have it, these sheets from Linen House Singapore were so comfortable that the chances of me getting sleep paralysis has greatly reduced! I don't know how true this is, but I'm sure the comfortability of my bed has lowered the occurrences of sleep paralysis since I have been sleeping so much better at night.
The comforts of my bed has not only allowed for better sleep, but also lifts my spirits because it is so aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Whenever I'm feeling unwell or down, I would snuggle up in bed alone under my flat sheet to sleep away my woes. Does anyone do this too?
Hello cuddly buddies! Yes, I'm aware that I'm turning 21 soon, but age does not deter me from sleeping with these cuddly buddies. Of course, other than cuddling in bed with my stuffed pals, I do read and use my laptop often in bed too. After all, a bed is a space for you to rest and get comfortable in.
I enjoy reading, and I definitely do spend a lot of time in bed reading and my reads range from fiction to non-fiction, as well as magazines. I find that I can't read well when I'm in an environment where it's not cozy and comfortable, as it's difficult for me to absorb and digest the text.
The nature of some of the work I do also requires me to use the laptop a lot, whether it's to draft up blog entries or to do miscellaneous work. Of course, I too spend a lot of time on the net surfing websites, watching Youtube videos or shows, and where else would be a better spot than being propped up against a pillow and getting comfy in these sheets?
So this is my comfort zone,
My bed with more pillows and cushions than I'd ever need.
My bed with stuffed animals, so many I could have a stuffed animal farm.
My bed where I sleep, read and do most of my work in.
