Being someone who spends a lot of time daily styling her hair with various heating tools, I have without a doubt, noticed my hair suffer under prolong heating conditions. It gets to me a lot that my hair is becoming increasingly damaged and dry, but I could do nothing because short hair requires A LOT of managing and styling.
However, sometime near the end of last year, Watsons kindly sent over their newly launched hair care range — Hair Pro by Watsons.
A little about the Watsons Hair Pro range —
Hair Pro by Watsons Heat Active range uses an advanced technology from Japan that harnesses heat energy from blow drying and heat styling to activate NanoRepair-El, an ingredient that delivers restorative and protective benefits to your hair.
I'm not quite sure how the technology behind Hair Pro works, but it's something along the line of using heat to allow hair to absorb the nutrients (mainly NanoRepair-EI), thereby bringing about smoother and shinier hair even with heat styling. And this just means good news for me (and everyone of you who irks having your hair damaged by heat styling)!
I started using the entire range a while ago after I've received them (good thing because my shampoo ran out). One thing I really like about this range is that they leave a really nice, unique scent on my hair.
Anyway, seen on the photo above are two products of the range I use daily — the shampoo and conditioner! They're almost a quarter gone if you can't tell from the photo, and that's because I've been really loving them, especially since they're so easy to use with the pump dispenser.
The shampoo is of a transparent, water-gel like consistency and really easy to lather into my hair. After using the shampoo, I'll proceed to apply the conditioner onto the ends of my hair and leave them on for about 2 minutes before washing them off.
Every two to three days (or if I feel my hair needs more love), I'll use the Heat Active Hair Mask in replacement of the Heat Active Treatment (aka the hair conditioner). I'll towel dry my hair after shampoo then apply the hair mask and leave in for about 10 minutes before washing it off.
The difference between a hair mask and a hair conditioner is that similar to a facial mask, hair mask provides more nutrients targeted at the needs of your hair (e.g. repair damage, strengthen hair) while a hair conditioner generally helps to add moisture after shampooing, making your hair smoother and shinier.
I have been (rather) diligently using the Heat Active Hair Serum whenever I style my hair every morning! This works similar to a leave-in conditioner, and just 2-3 light pumps is needed to cover all my hair ends. Other than as a leave-in conditioner, this works as a heat protectant as well, so I generally only use it before I style my hair with heating tools!
In a nutshell: I don't have concrete before and after photos to show you guys how much my hair has improved, but you guys can probably check out my Instagram and compare my hair from 1-2 months ago and my hair now! My hair's definitely become much smoother, shinier and have a much better texture. I especially feel so when it comes to styling my hair with heating tools — I honestly can feel the difference!
Anyway, if I'm not wrong, Watsons is currently running a promotion for their Hair Pro by Watsons as seen on their website. You may also drop by any physical Watsons near you to enquire!
