Thanks to the team at Ellysage, I got to do a collaboration with Hada Labo and here, I'll be reviewing the Hada Labo Arbutin Whitening range, consisting of mainly the Hada Labo Arbutin Whitening face wash, lotion and milk (moisturizer). I've been a fan of Hada Labo since forever, and absolutely can't live without their lip balm especially. Needless to say, I love the current skin care regime with Hada Labo products as well.
Disclaimer: While the products were gifted for a collaboration, the review is written with 101% honesty.
As part of the usual skin care regime, we always start with a cleanser – Hada Labo Arbutin Whitening Face Wash. I don't think you can tell from the pictures but I've actually finished half the tube of this face wash. Yes, this is how much I love it and how I pretty much rely on it every day and night. Unlike most other facial foams, this one doesn't leave my skin feeling overly-dry after a face wash. I don't know if many of you knows how it feels to have your skin feeling overly-dry, bare and stripped of its natural oils, but I sure don't like that feeling.
Also, my favorite part of Hada Labo products is that all of them comes with no fragrances. As everyone should know by now, and if you haven't – skin care products containing fragrances are more often than not, bad for our skin.
After cleansing my face thoroughly with the face wash, I follow up using the Hada Labo Arbutin Whitening Lotion. I love that this product is easily absorbed into my skin, due to its liquid consistency. After a face wash, my face usually feels very bare, and this lotion helps to keep my skin soft. My skin also looks instantly more radiant upon application.
Because of its liquid consistency and ability to spread evenly, I only require very little of the product on my palm before I pat it lightly onto my skin. This product works best when used with the Hada Labo Arbutin Whitening Milk in my personal opinion.
Last of the lot, I finish the regime by applying the above-mentioned Hada Labo Arbutin Whitening Milk on my face. Similar to the lotion, I require only a little of the product because it spreads on my face so well. Even though this whitening milk works as a 'moisturizer', my skin doesn't feel oily after application since the product is easily absorbed into my skin. Of course, if you apply too much (like I did on the first few tries) you end up with a slightly oilier face, which I do not fancy very much. So I would say, having a good gauge is the key.
Honestly, I couldn't really tell a difference because I look into the mirror everyday, too much to even notice any differences. But since the commencement of the use of this Hada Labo Arbutin Whitening range, I've been told that my skin tone is much more even than before.
As you know, the weather in Singapore these days is really crazy, but I'm surprised that my face hasn't become tanned as compared to my arms and legs (I've got a tan-line from wearing my sandals and watch). I am guessing it's because of the use of Hada Labo that managed to keep my skin tone in check. Also, I only noticed how much more radiant my skin has become after I reviewed some outfit photos the other day (entry up real soon on my blog!).
