It's almost a month into 2016 and with January coming to an end in a week's time, I thought I'd do a recap of the things that I loved this month.Read More
A couple of months back, I received Sudio Sweden's newest product — the VASA earphones, and in all honesty, I've been using them almost everyday so much so that they've become an integral part of my life.
Design — in full black with rose gold details, what more can one ask for in a beautiful pair of earphones? I like that the earphones are tangle-free and come with a 3-button remote and mic too, allowing me to adjust the volumes and music choice easily with a click.
Sound Quality — these earphones have given me a wonderful sound experience, allowing me to listen to music crisp and clear, hearing every bit of detail and instrumentation.
Accessories — The VASA earphones set also comes with a genuine leather carrying case for your convenience, as well as 4 additional pairs of earphone sleeves - ensuring that the fit is perfect for every user of the earphones.
It's the time of the year again, and we're all excited for Christmas! These earphones would make a great gift for just about anyone — especially tech or music lovers.

I've had my hair taken care of by Jean Yip Singapore since March this year, and I personally have been loving their hair services. I think that Jean Yip focuses a lot more on caring for your hair, rather than fancy hair colors that do more damage than good. Also, my hairstylists Carlos and Kate are always always so friendly and hilarious that I can't help but to feel so loved. It's always a good time with them!
Recently, I got a hair makeover by Carlos at Jean Yip and can I just say, it's by far my favorite hairstyle ever! This is also the first time I had my hair cut THIS short. Previously it was a tad below my chin, but this time it went up up and above (heh). I also got my hair colored in the loveliest shade of copper-blonde and as usual, Jean Yip pampered me with the most amazing hair treatments ever — Royal Treatment and Supersilk Thermal Treatment.
A little more about the treatments and my personal take on them:
Royal Treatment —
A scalp treatment that not only cleanses the scalp, but regulates sebum production and improves blood circulation for healthier hair growth using photo-bio stimulation therapy.
I don't know if you've seen it on my Snapchat (username: nsybrenda) or Dayre before, it is actually this machine that produces red light and is shone over my scalp. Personally, I have issues with dry scalp but this treatment has definitely improved the condition of my scalp over time. Whenever I leave the salon, I feel like my scalp can finally breathe and boy, it feels good.
Supersilk Thermal Treatment —
A treatment that nourishes and moisturizes hair and replenishes protein to hair follicles.
Personally, I do curl my hair everyday with a hair brush curler to maintain a neat shape and have my hair curl inwards. The heat of course, does a lot of damage to my hair, making it dry and limp. The Supersilk Thermal Treatment, as the name suggests, leaves my hair silky, shiny and soft (you can see it in the pictures!).
With Jean Yip's services, I know I'm always in good hands and I really, really appreciate the hair services by them. As narcissistic as this sounds, I've never been this in love with my hair. Of course, a really big 'thank you' to Jean Yip Singapore as well as my hairstylists Carlos and Kate for the great hospitality and always bringing me so much joy.

A super overdue food entry featuring some visuals taken during a food tasting event at Joo Bar, a Korean restaurant/bar that recently rode on the Korean-wave and opened its first outlet in heart of Bugis at Tan Quee Lan Street, Singapore.
While Joo Bar serves quality Korean food, what makes this unassuming Korean restaurant stand out from the other Korean restaurants is that they are the first and only ones in Singapore to brew their own Korean rice wine, otherwise known as Makgeoli, right in the restaurant. We were served different flavors of Makgeoli and I have to say, they were indeed very flavorful!
I think Joo Bar would be the perfect hang out place on a Friday night, where a group of friends gather around the table with a delightful spread of Korean food and rice wine. The fact that they are open all the way till 12 midnight makes it an even better choice.

MANGO Eyewear, brought to you by Eye Trendy | Your Eyewear Collective
Eye Trendy | Your Eyewear Collective carries more than 20 brands of eyewear, and joining the big family will be the MANGO Eyewear Collection! This is the first time ever that MANGO Eyewear will be available in optical shops in Singapore. The launch of the MANGO Eyewear collection will be held at a pool party in a luxurious hotel and you're invited (no, I'm not kidding!) Keep reading for more details!
I was stoked to be able to preview and pick out a few pairs of eyewear from this high quality MANGO collection since the collection will only be available in optical retail stores in Singapore.
Clearly having a really great time trying out the wide range of sunglasses available! It didn't take me very long before I decided on my pick, because I tend to go for rounder-shaped ones. More pictures of my pick below!
At the same time, I picked out a pair of glasses! For prescription glasses, I would usually opt for oversized and black-framed ones, which are really the rage right now.
I really like the fact that Eye Trendy provides eyewear that are modern, and as their name suggests, trendy as well. The MANGO Eyewear collection in particular, really suits professionals my age who are looking for affordable eyewear that's in trend as well.
And here are my picks! Haven't got the time to get my prescription lenses done because I have a complicated prescription which would take longer than usual to get the lenses fitted, and I was too excited to try them out for some photos.. But seriously, I'm in love!
In absolute love with this pair of sunglasses (Model no: MN403-10) from the MANGO Eyewear range - from the colour (black never fails) to the style - as well as the thin yet sturdy frames. Also, the lenses of all the sunglasses in this MANGO Eyewear collection are polarized, which provides extra visual comfort and clarity since I wouldn't have to squint my eyes trying to see under the scorching sun to get a clear view.
People who know me knows I can't live without my sunglasses and other than it protecting your eyes from the harmful UV rays (especially in Singapore!), it is a great accessory for styling your outfits. Of course, it came in a sunglasses case where I can keep my pair tucked away in my bag without fearing it will break or get any scratches.
I have sadly, been bespectacled for almost 13 years of my life and over the years, I have had the worst encounters with glasses! From glasses that hurt my nose bridge to ones that I never want to be seen in...
Anyhow, I'm so glad to have gotten this pair of frames (Model no: MNG416-10) from the MANGO Eyewear collection, and I can't wait to get the lenses fitted. In case you’re wondering why it says “H.E. by MANGO” on the lenses, it’s actually the men’s series, BUT that does not deter me from being in love with this pair, since MANGO Eyewear encapsulates a modern, trendy and stylish vibe that allows for both urban men and women to match with their outfits easily.
This pair of frames surprisingly fitted me really well, and I think it can easily pass off as a pair of geek specs (which is the trend right!). The sides are in a gunmetal shade, and I just love how black goes along so well with gunmetal.
Now in the future, I'm certain I would go out in my spectacles very often. Sorry, not sorry, but I just can't get over how a legit pair of prescription glasses can look so good!
